US Cotton net export sales for July 7-13 up noticeably w/w at 67,100 RB

NEW DELHI, July 20 : US cotton net sales were at 67,100 running bales (RB) for the week ended July 13 in the marketing year 2022/2023 starting August 1, up noticeably from the previous week, but down 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.


US cotton net sales were at 23,100 RB for the week ended July 6.


Net sales were primarily for China China (32,400 RB), Vietnam (16,000 RB, including 300 RB switched from Japan and 100 RB switched from South Korea), India (7,800 RB, including decreases of 300 RB), Pakistan (3,800 RB, including decreases of 200 RB), and Turkey (3,500 RB), were offset by reductions for Guatemala (600 RB) and South Korea (100 RB).


Net sales of 86,100 RB for 2023/2024 primarily for China (49,200 RB), Pakistan (17,900 RB), Vietnam (8,400 RB), Peru (7,000 RB), and Portugal (5,300 RB), were offset by reductions for Turkey (1,700 RB), South Korea (900 RB), and Honduras (400 RB).


Exports of 233,100 RB were up 12 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (86,800 RB), Pakistan (31,100 RB), Turkey (26,200 RB), Vietnam (22,300 RB), and Bangladesh (13,300 RB).


Net sales of Pima totaling 4,900 RB for 2022/2023 were down 29 percent from the previous week, but up 21 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Vietnam (2,200 RB), India (2,100 RB), China (400 RB), and Thailand (200 RB).


Total net sales of 900 RB for 2023/2024 were for Vietnam. Exports of 2,400 RB were up 75 percent from the previous week, but down 61 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were to Egypt (1,300 RB) and India (1,100 RB).


Optional Origin Sales: For 2023/2024, new optional sales of 900 RB were for Pakistan. The outstanding balance of 900 RB, all Pakistan.


Export for Own Account: For 2022/2023, new exports for own account totaling 100 RB were to China. Exports for own account totaling 4,200 RB to Vietnam (4,100 RB) and China (100 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales. The current exports for own account outstanding balance of 90,000 RB are for China (66,700 RB), Vietnam (13,200 RB), Pakistan (5,000 RB), South Korea (2,400 RB), India (1,500 RB), and Turkey (1,200 RB).
