New Delhi, March 15 (CommoditiesControl): Mentha oil prices showed firmness on Friday, due to increased buying interest and a noticeable decline in stocks. However, despite this upward trend, domestic industrial demand remains subdued, with analysts attributing the decline in demand for natural mentha oil to the availability of cheaper synthetic alternatives.
In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices edged up by Rs 4, reaching Rs 1036-1038 per kg. Similarly, prices in the Barabanki market saw an increase of Rs 5, settling at Rs 1005 per kg.
At the MCX, the benchmark contract for Mentha oil delivery in March exhibited a marginal decline of Rs 0.40, trading at Rs 939 per kg. The contract witnessed an open interest of 517 and a trading volume of 71.
