Jaipur, 4 March (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed, cake and oil prices fell on Friday due to weak demand and increased arrivals. As per the market analysts, demand for mustard oil usually falls after end of winter season. At the same time, the harvesting season of mustard seed is going in full swing and arrivals of oilseed are also increasing day by day, therefore, its prices are under pressure.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned fell Rs 25 to Rs 5,400-5425 per quintal (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices dropped Rs 10 to Rs 1004-1005 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices were also fell Rs 10 to 1014-1015 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices fell Rs 30 to Rs 2490-2495 per quintal in Jaipur.
Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 8.5 lakh bags across the country, up 50,000 bags from last session. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 3.6 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 1.35 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh, 1.25 lakh bags in Uttar Pradesh, 20,000 bags in Punjab and Haryana and 65,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 1.45 lakh bags of mustard seed.
At Kandla port, CPO prices were flat at Rs 865 per 10kg and RBD palmolein prices gained Rs 5 to Rs 890 per 10 kg. Soyoil refine prices rose Rs 5 to Rs 945 per 10 kg. Degum prices also gained Rs 5 to Rs 880 per 10 kg. Sunflower refine oil prices were quoted flat at Rs 930 per 10 kg.
