Jaipur, 2 March (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed and oil prices rose in the physical market on Saturday extending gains as demand for the edible oil gained tracking firm cues from the imported oils.
As per the traders, arrivals are falling as the farmers are not in a hurry now and they are waiting for procurement of oilseed to be started this month.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned surged Rs 25 to Rs 5,425-5450 per quintal kachchi (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices rose Rs 10 to Rs 1014-1015 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices were also gained Rs 10 to 1024-1025 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices were flat at Rs 2520-2525 per quintal in Jaipur.
Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 7.25 lakh bags across the country. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 3.25 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 1 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh, one lakh bags in Uttar Pradesh, 15,000 bags in Punjab and Haryana and 55,000 bags in Gujarat.
The major markets of states received around 1.3 lakh bags of mustard seed.
