Mumbai, 30 April 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Moong prices have declined across major markets in India due to increasing arrivals of the summer crop. In Madhya Pradesh, a key producing state, the influx of newly harvested moong is weighing on prices. Rajasthan, another major producer, also saw price declines. While arrivals there are nearly finished, stockists are offloading old crop moong ahead of increase in arrival of summer crop in other moong growing regions of the country.
Prices are likely to remain under pressure as early summer crop arrivals gain momentum. Favorable weather conditions have led to healthy crop development, with arrivals expected to increase steadily in the coming days. This will further boost supply and likely drive prices downward.
