Zambia Copper Output Recovering From Half-Year Slump: Bank of Zambia -- Market Talk

22 Nov 2017 12:41 pm

1241 GMT - After registering a production slump in the first half of 2017, Zambia's copper output is recovering, putting Africa's No.2 producer of the industrial metal on course to register record output, says the Bank of Zambia. Total output in the year to September is 4% up at 576,128 metric tons, recovering from a 1.4% slump in the first half. The central bank expects full-year copper output to rebound by 10%, supported by stable power generation at hydro electric plants amid rising international prices.
