Southeast US (Alabama and Georgia) Forecast
Scattered light to locally moderate showers Thursday. Dry conditions or
just a few light showers Friday. Scattered light showers Saturday. Dry
conditions or just a few light showers Sunday. Dry weather Monday-Wednesday.
Temperatures near to above normal Thursday, above normal Friday-Sunday, near to
above normal Monday, near to below normal Tuesday-Wednesday.
6-10 Day Outlook: Temperatures variable. Rainfall below normal.
Favorable conditions for planting and developing soybeans in the Midwest
and northern Plains.
Mostly favorable conditions for planting and developing soybeans in the
Delta states although more rain would benefit in some western areas.
Mostly favorable harvest weather in central Argentina.
Mostly favorable conditions in China's key soybean growing regions in the
northeast for fieldwork and planting. Rains in southern growing areas ended the
recent drying trend. Key growing areas of Heilongjiang had good rains during
April, so in this area soil moisture should favor early development. However,
dryness and above normal temperatures during May are becoming of increasing
concern for soybeans.
Planting of India's soybean crop begins during June and is timed to take
advantage of the start of the rainy season. Most of India's soybean crop is
grown between west and central Madhya Pradesh and northeast Maharashtra.
