WORLD CORN PROSPECTS

Wet weather in the eastern Midwest disrupts and delays the harvest,
especially in Indiana and Ohio. More favorable weather for the remaining
harvest in the western Midwest and northern Plains.
Generally favorable conditions for planting and developing corn in central
Argentina although a turn to drier weather will deplete soil moisture.
Recent rainfall in eastern Europe may mean delays to the final harvest
effort for corn. No significant concerns for the harvest in France at this
time.
No significant concerns for final harvest effort for corn in China at this
time.
Scattered showers and thundershowers and much cooler temperatures will help
improve conditions for early development of maize in South Africa. Rainfall
will help improve soil moisture for the ongoing planting effort but some
western areas could use more rain after recent hot temperatures.
