WORLD SOYBEAN PROSPECTS

Frequent episodes of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Midwest
will cause some planting disruptions but maintain very favorable soil moisture
for developing crops.
Hot/dry weather depletes soil moisture for planting and developing soybeans
in the Delta and Southeast states.
Harvest disruptions in central Argentina at this time. Drier weather is
expected during the next 7 days.
Mostly favorable conditions in China's key soybean growing regions in the
northeast for fieldwork and planting. However, a drying trend and continued
above normal temperatures needs to be watched. Key growing areas of
Heilongjiang had good rains during April, so in this area soil moisture should
favor early development.
Planting of India's soybean crop begins during June and is timed to take
advantage of the start of the start of the rainy season. Most of India's
soybean crop is grown between west and central Madhya Pradesh and northeast
Maharashtra.
