SOUTHEAST ASIA REGION: 
 
Myanmar Highlights: Episodes of showers, thundershowers and some rain during 
the weekend period. Heaviest in west and north areas, associated with the early 
part of the rainy season. 
 
Thailand Highlights: Scattered showers and thundershowers favoring northern and 
western areas during the weekend period. Drier and somewhat hotter in southeast 
locations. 
 
Vietnam Highlights: Scattered showers and thundershowers mainly early in the 
weekend period.  Widely scattered to isolated activity later in the weekend. 
Temperatures near to above normal. 
 
Philippines Highlights: Moderate to locally heavy showers and thundershowers 
favoring central and northern areas early in the weekend period. Somewhat less 
activity later in the weekend. Variable temperatures. 
 
Malaysia Highlights: Scattered to widely scattered shower activity during the 
weekend period. Somewhat hotter temperatures. 
 
Indonesia Highlights: Seasonal rains continue to shift north of the region at 
this time. 
 
WORLD RUBBER PROSPECTS 
 
   Episodes of scattered to widely scattered showers continue in southern 
Indonesia. The activity is beginning to diminish and shift northward, as 
expected during this time of the year. 
   Heavy rainfall in Sri Lanka and the southern tip of India as seasonal rains 
begin. Local flooding has been reported, some severe flooding. Field work 
delays are expected. 
   Increasing rains in the southern Thailand rubber areas will improve 
conditions for the trees while slowing seasonal field work.
