5 Mar 2017 11:05 pm

Pakistan, North India and Bangladesh

Highlights: Dry or with only a few sprinkles or light showers favoring
north-central and east areas during the weekend period. Temperatures near to
below normal northwest, warmer south and east.

Forecast:
Days 1-3: A few sprinkles or light showers may occurred in the region during
this period. These are most likely to occur in the northwest and southeast
areas. There is even a slight chance for moderate showers to develop in
southeast locations during this time. Temperatures near to below normal through
the extreme western areas, near to above normal elsewhere in the region.

WORLD COTTON PROSPECTS

No significant concerns for the harvest of cotton in northwest India at this
time.
Winter and spring rain in east-central Australia improved soil moisture and
irrigation for planting cotton and early development. Summer time heat
increased the need for added irrigation to prevent significant stress to the
crop. The region has turned cooler with light to moderate showers during the
past couple of weeks. This should help ease stress to this crop. Reports
suggest that early planted cotton may be maturing at this time.
