Further Growth May Be Limited in Libya, Nigeria -- Market Talk

27 Jun 2017 5:02 am

0502 GMT - Even though oil production out of Nigeria and Liberia has risen steadily of late, growth might be near its peak given lack of near-term fresh investment, says Ric Spooner at CMC Markets. That as risks remain in both locals for new supply disruptions. S&P Global Platts estimates Nigeria's daily crude production in May rose a further 5% to 1.73 million barrels while media reports put Libya's average last week at around 885,000. While barely half of the country's output before 2011's civil war, Libya's oil production has more than tripled from August's low. (jenny.hsu@wsj.com)
