Favorable conditions for developing coffee in Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais
Generally favorable conditions for the remaining harvest in Mexico and
Central America. Early bloom for new crop gets underway in March.
The main crop flowers in Colombia during March. The midcrop is developing.
A drier weather pattern in the coffee growing areas of central Vietnam
during late January and much of February will improve conditions for the
harvest and transport of the crop.
Episodes of scattered rains continue through coffee areas of southern
Indonesia. This maintains favorable conditions for development of coffee but
may delay seasonal fieldwork.
Drier, warmer weather in West Africa coffee areas during November and
December favored the maturing crop and harvesting. The region has had some hot
dry weather during January and in February. However, more recently we have also
had some shower activity move through...favoring coffee trees and easing the
risk of damage due to seasonal Harmattan winds.
The east Africa coffee growing region seen and increase in shower activity
recently. This should help ease stress on the trees at this time.
