WORLD COTTON PROSPECTS

No significant concerns for the harvest of cotton in Pakistan and northwest
India at this time. Rainfall late in the Monsoon rainy season in Gujarat and
Maharashtra favored development cotton. Rain in the cotton areas this week but
much of the crop has already been harvested.
Winter and spring rain in east-central Australia improved soil moisture and
irrigation for planting cotton and early development. Periodic showers and warm
to hot temperatures at this time supports favorable development of this crop.
