Australia Cotton Weather - Apr 23

Northern New South Wales and southern Queensland 
Highlights: Mostly dry or with only isolated very light showers during the 
weekend period. Temperatures near to below normal. 
 Days 1-3: Mainly dry Monday. Scattered light to locally moderate showers 
develop during Tuesday and end during Wednesday. Temperatures may be warmer 
Monday but it should turn cooler again Tuesday and especially Wednesday. 
 Days 4-5: Mostly dry. Temperatures average below normal. 
   Cotton planting is increasing in the Delta states. 
   No significant concerns for the harvest of cotton in northwest India at this 
   Drier weather through key growing areas of eastern Australia during this 
week will help improve conditions for the maturing crop, open boll cotton and 
harvesting, following the heavy rain at the end of March. Warmer temperatures 
would be more favorable. 
   Increasing shower activity in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan (former Soviet 
Union) will improve soil moisture and irrigation and favor early planting of 
   Mostly favorable conditions for planting and early development for cotton in 
west China. The eastern growing belt may see some delay to planting as episodes 
of rain move across.
