WORLD CORN PROSPECTS
Episodes of cold/wet weather will delay fieldwork and corn planting in the
Midwest.
Despite episodes of wet weather, corn planting progress is running at or
ahead of normal in the Delta and Southeast states with the exception of
Arkansas.
Favorable conditions for developing second crop corn in central Brazil.
Drought conditions are breaking in the major corn and soybean areas of
central Argentina. However rainfall is likely coming too late in the season to
be of much benefit to crops.
Filling to maturing maize in South Africa growing areas will benefit from
warmer temperatures and only scattered showers during this week.
