Amcor's Price Hikes to Offset Pain from Raw Material Costs -- Market Talk

15 Oct 2017 10:55 pm

2254 GMT [Dow Jones] Deutsche Bank thinks higher costs for resins, adhesives and ink could wipe US$15M-US$20M from Amcor's 1H earnings, but recent price increases for its products ensure its full-year result isn't affected. Raw material costs have been rising following recent natural disasters in North America and the disruption to supply chains. Amcor's flexible packaging business in North America has increased its prices by 5-10% in response. Deutsche, which rates Amcor at buy, also expects the company to benefit from a stronger euro relative to the U.S. dollar. Amcor ended trading on Friday at A$15.63.
