Mumbai, April 26 (Commoditiescontrol):Ukraine's grain exports for the 2022/23 season have reached 41.1 million tonnes as of April 26, according to data released by the country's Agriculture Ministry on Wednesday. However, the figure marks a significant decrease from last year's exports, which stood at 45.7 million tonnes as of April 27, 2022.
The data reveals that wheat exports accounted for 14.2 million tonnes of the total, while corn exports reached 24.2 million tonnes, and barley exports stood at 2.5 million tonnes.
The ministry reported that grain exports during April alone amounted to almost 3.2 million tonnes as of April 26, highlighting the country's continued role as a major grain grower and exporter.
Despite being a major exporter, Ukraine's grain output is expected to have dropped significantly this year. As a result, the country's grain output in the 2022 calendar year is estimated to have fallen to around 53 million tonnes in clean weight, a marked decrease from the record 86 million tonnes produced in 2021.
