MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Australia Chana export during the month of December dropped 69% at 70,563 metric tonnes compared with 225,856 metric tonnes, according to data released by Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The drop in export was attributed to drop in production amid poor yield and lower acreage under the crop followed by reduced demand from India.
Demand for Chana from India is expected to remain subdued due to expectations of bumper production forecast after sowing reached to record level this rabi season.
