The procurement has been carried out at MSP rates, a major relief for farmers grappling with falling prices in the open market. NAFED has been actively procuring agricultural commodities under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) to ensure farmers get remunerative prices for their produce.
The total MSP value of the Gram procured in Telangana is Rs. 268.02 crores, while in Gujarat it is Rs. 843.36 crores, in Karnataka it is Rs. 287.37 crores, in Maharashtra it is Rs. 1,819.45 crores, and in Andhra Pradesh, it is Rs. 255.75 crores. On the other hand, the MSP value for Uttar Pradesh is Rs. 1.16 crore, Madhya Pradesh is Rs. 477.25 crore, and Rajasthan is Rs. 2.16 crore.
NAFED has been working closely with state governments and various stakeholders to ensure that procurement operations are carried out smoothly and efficiently. The procurement of Gram under the PSS is expected to provide much-needed relief to farmers who have been struggling to make ends meet due to low prices in the open market.
