Masoor planting likely to drop by 21% in USA

MUMBAI, 3 April (Commoditiescontrol): Masoor growers in the United States intend to plant 519,000 acres in 2023, down 21% from 660,000 acres in 2022, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates.

Planted area is expected to increase in Idaho, Montana is looking at a massive decline in grower interest in the crop.

If yields are at their recent five year average, production would drop from 349,000 to 222,000 metric tons (MT).
