MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Food grain production in Punjab during 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) is likely to decrease by 0.74% at 306.03 lakh tonne compared with 308.29 lakh tonne a year ago, said an official with farm department.
Production of rice is estimated to rise 6.88% on year to 135.08 lakh tonne. Wheat output pegged 3.46% higher at 166 lakh tonne and cotton crop estimated 11.29% down at 11.24 lakh bales (170kg each).
