US soybean net sales for Dec 22-28 at 201,600 MT, down 80 percent W/W

NEW DELHI, Jan 5: US soybean net sales were at 201,600 MT, a marketing-year low, for the week ended December 28 in the marketing year 2023/2024 starting September 1, down 80 percent from the previous week and 85 percent from the prior 4-week average.


US soybean net sales were at 983,900 MT for the week ended December 21.

Increases were primarily for Spain (136,700 MT, including 124,900 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Netherlands (84,800 MT, including 77,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (71,600 MT, including decreases of 4,300 MT), Bangladesh (58,400 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (39,700 MT, including decreases of 600 MT), were offset by reductions for unknown destinations (277,800 MT) and Hong Kong (1,000 MT).

Total net sales of 600 MT for 2024/2025 were for Japan. Exports of 1,000,600 MT were down 18 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (472,600 MT), Spain (202,700 MT), the Netherlands (84,800 MT), Bangladesh (59,000 MT), and Mexico (57,600 MT).

Exports for Own Account: For 2023/2024, the current exports for own account outstanding balance of 2,100 MT are for Canada (1,400 MT) and Taiwan (700 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal

Net sales of 81,400 MT for 2023/2024 were down 70 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for Venezuela (40,000 MT, including 10,100 MT switched from Colombia and decreases of 2,200 MT), Mexico (38,000 MT), Canada (21,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,500 MT), and El Salvador (4,100 MT, including 3,800 MT switched from Guatemala), were offset by reductions primarily for Morocco (15,800 MT), unknown destinations (10,000 MT), China (5,000 MT), the French West Indies (3,500 MT), and Guatemala (3,100 MT).

Exports of 262,500 MT were down 11 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to the Philippines (48,300 MT), Guatemala (30,200 MT), Colombia (29,500 MT), the Dominican Republic (26,400 MT), and Venezuela (25,300 MT).

Soybean Oil

Net sales of 1,200 MT for 2023/2024 were up 30 percent from the previous week and 77 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Increases were primarily for Canada (900 MT). Exports of 600 MT were up 67 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destination was Canada.
