MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - India's oilmeal exports during the month of August dropped 38 percent at 56,597 tonnes compared with 91,834 tonnes same period a year ago, according to monthly data released by The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA).
The overall oilmeal shipment during April to August slipped 46 percent at 330,834 tonnes from 609,748 tonnes previous year due to lesser availability of oilseeds for crushing and continuous disparity in exporting oilmeals in international market, as per the release.
Soybean meal exports for April-August period stood at 10,145 tonnes, down from 35,857 tonnes last year. Rapeseed meal exports from April-August dropped at 97,457 tonnes against 219,158 tonnes previous year, but up from 4,197 tonnes shipped during July month.
