China April Cotton Imports Declines Over 67% From India Y/Y

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - China cotton imports during the month April dropped sharply by 56.44 percent at 70,004 tonnes from same period a year ago, the latest custom data showed.

India rank fourth in importers list, while the top three countries are U.S, Uzbekistan and Cameroon.

China imports around 8,052 tonnes of cotton from India, down 67.82 percent from a year ago, while year-to-date shipment dropped significantly by 71.33 percent at 43,118 tonnes and down 31.26 percent from 11,714 tonnes a month ago.

Chinese cotton imports plummets sharply since 2014 as Beijing unwinds a controversial stockpiling scheme.
