Fourth Adv Est: Madhya Pradesh 2017-18 Soybean Output Down 20% At 53 Lakh Tonnes

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Madhya Pradesh agriculture department in its fourth advance estimates for 2017-18 estimated soybean production at 53 lakh tonnes, down 20%, while food grains production pegged nearly 2% lower at 436.35 lakh tonnes mainly due to drop in wheat output.

On the other hand, output of urad in the state rose substantially by 61.7% to 17.9 lakh tonnes, the data showed. Output of chana estimated 18.5% higher to 54 lakh tonnes. While Matar crop ouput was down 38.2% at 3.22 lakh tonnes.
