Coriander Prices Improve in Gujarat Amid Low Arrivals

Ahmedabad, April 22 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander is experiencing fluctuations in prices amid varied market trends. Today, the market witnessed a slight uptick in demand at lower prices due to low arrivals, leading to a price improvement of Rs 5-10 per 20 kg. The arrival of coriander was notably low across all markets, including Gondal. With Hanuman Jayanti scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, most markets will remain closed. Traders anticipate that market conditions will depend on Wednesday's arrivals.

Today, around 17,000 bags, each weighing 40 kg, of coriander arrived in the state. Despite the low arrivals, the average price of coriander remained stable at Rs 1370-1570 per 20 kg.

In Gondal Mandi, 5,000 bags arrived, with around 34,000 bags pending. Of these, 15,315 bags were traded at Rs 1451-1826. Rajkot Mandi recorded an arrival of 3,000 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 1250-1751.

Other market arrivals were as follows: Halvad (1,000 bags), Jetpur (500 bags), Jamjodhpur (2,000 bags), Junagadh (1,800 bags), Amreli (300 bags), Jamnagar (1,000 bags), and other mandis saw arrivals ranging from 2,200 to 2,500 bags.

In Guna and Kumbharaj Mandi, the main coriander markets in Madhya Pradesh, prices remained stable. In Guna Mandi, Badami was priced at Rs 6,800/7,100, Scooter at Rs 7,600/8,200, and Eagle at Rs 6,800/7,200, with an increase in arrivals. Total arrivals were 15,000 bags, compared to 8,000 bags in the previous session.

In Kumbharaj Mandi, prices and arrivals were similar to the previous session, with Badami priced at Rs 6,500/6,800, Eagle at Rs 7,000/7,200, and Scooter at Rs 7,500/8,000, with a total arrival of 12,000 bags.



Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7480/quintal showing an fall of Rs -24 over previous close of Rs 7504/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7432-7520 for the day. Open interest increased by 25220 MT to 25330 MT, while trading volume increased by 2315 to 2340 MT.

Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7696/quintal showing an fall of Rs -112 over previous close of Rs 7808/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7696-7696 for the day. Open interest decreased by -25390 MT to 10 MT, while trading volume decreased by -3300 to 0 MT.

Currently The spread between MAY and JUN contract is -216 Rs/quintal.
