Ahmedabad, April 11 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market continues to experience a phase of decline, due to lack of new export business and increased arrivals from Rajasthan. Today, prices softened by Rs 30-40 per 20 kg in the state.
Traders note a decrease in arrivals in Gujarat, although there is substantial arrival from Rajasthan. While major export trade in cumin remains subdued, overall exports in April are expected to see just 70% compared to March. Currently, buyers are making purchases as needed, and due to limited demand from stockists, though significant fluctuations in cumin prices are not anticipated.
Today, cumin arrivals in Unjha reduced due to the Eid holiday. Total arrivals stood around 25,000-28,000 bags, with 20,000 bags from Rajasthan and 7,000-8,000 bags from the state. In the state, rough cumin was priced between Rs 3,750-4,000 per 20 kg, while the best quality fetched Rs 4,250-4,550 per 20 kg. The price of Bombay Bold variety stood at Rs 4,550-5,300 per 20 kg.
