Mumabai, March 21 (CommoditiesControl): Chilli prices continue to display mixed cues in major markets, with varied movements observed in different regions. While prices have seen an uptick in Guntur, they have witnessed a decline in Warangal and Khammam. The Warangal market resumed operations today after being closed yesterday. However, it's anticipated that markets in Khammam and Warangal will operate only a few days per week in the upcoming months due to the onset of the summer season.
Demand for Teja and Teja deluxe varieties remains robust, particularly in the Guntur market, which has contributed to the firming of their prices.
Arrivals in Guntur and Khammam markets were reported at 90,000 and 20,000 bags, respectively. Notably, Guntur witnessed a decrease of 10,000 bags, whereas Khammam market arrivals declined by 5,000 bags.
Prices are currently facing pressure due to higher carry-in stocks and a supply that exceeds initial expectations. However, it's worth noting that prices have already experienced significant declines from their previous highs. Looking ahead, prices are expected to either remain stable or strengthen in the future.
