Coriander Prices Remain Stable; Gondal Mandi Sees Arrival of 1.25 Lakh Bags

Ahmedabad, March 20 (CommoditiesControl): Today, Gondal Mandi, the primary arrival center for coriander in Gujarat, witnessed the arrival of 1.25 lakh bags of coriander. Despite this significant arrival, coriander prices remained stable.

Traders noted that the average arrival of 21,000 bags during this season in Gondal Mandi is not considered unusually high. Moreover, with no arrivals exceeding 1 lakh bags in recent days, today's arrival wasn't significant.

In Gujarat, a total of 1,45,000 bags, each weighing 40 kg, of coriander traded today, with prices ranging from Rs 1370 to Rs 1870 on average.

At Gondal Mandi, coriander fetched prices between Rs 1626 and Rs 2026 per 20 kg. Rajkot Mandi also saw trade of pending sacks at Rs 1225 to Rs 1911 per 20 kg.

In other markets, such as Jamjodhpur and Jamnagar Mandi, trade of pending sacks was observed. Notable arrivals were reported in various locations, including Halvad (2,500 sacks), Dhangadhra (800 sacks), Jetpur (2,500 sacks), Junagadh (2,300 sacks), and Amreli (4,500 sacks), with an additional 7,000 to 8,000 sacks in surrounding areas.

In Guna Mandi, Madhya Pradesh, good-quality coriander arrivals led to a price increase of Rs 100 to Rs 200. Prices for different varieties stood at Rs 6,400 to Rs 6,700 for Coriander, Rs 7,500 to Rs 8,200 for Scooter, and Rs 6,800 to Rs 7,500 for Eagle. The total arrival in Guna Mandi was 15,000 bags.

Meanwhile, Kumbhraj Mandi saw consistent arrivals and prices, while in Badami, prices remained stable at Rs 6,500 to Rs 6,800 for Coriander, Rs 7,000 to Rs 7,200 for Eagle, and Rs 7,600 to Rs 8,200 for Scooter, with an arrival of 25,000 bags.



Dhaniya contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 7744/quintal showing an rise of Rs 72 over previous close of Rs 7672/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7618-7788 for the day. Open interest decreased by -990 MT to 18575 MT, while trading volume increased by 570 to 3220 MT.

Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7830/quintal showing an rise of Rs 88 over previous close of Rs 7742/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7736-7866 for the day. Open interest increased by 1050 MT to 8465 MT, while trading volume increased by 545 to 1700 MT.

Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -86 Rs/quintal.
