Ahmedabad, March 09 (CommoditiesControl): Cumin arrivals in Gujarat are on a continuous rise, with the market witnessing the arrival of 90,000 bags today. Despite the increased arrivals, cumin prices remained stable, attributed to sustained demand. Traders note that the market received significant support from robust export performance, contributing to the current price stability. The overall market outlook depends on the forthcoming selling activities.
In Unja alone, the arrival of around 55,000 cumin bags, each weighing 55 kg, was reported. The prices for rough cumin ranged from Rs 4,500 to Rs 4,750 per 20 kg, while the best quality cumin was priced between Rs 5,100 and Rs 5,500 per 20 kg. Bombay Bold variety commanded a price range of Rs 5,500 to Rs 6,300 per 20 kg. Nearby businesses reported a stock of 30,000 sacks. Overall, the state recorded an arrival of more than 85,000 to 90,000 bags of cumin.
In Rajkot market, new arrivals of cumin were temporarily halted, but a pending trade of 5,000 bags was completed. Prices in the range of Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,280 were observed. Meanwhile, Gondal Mandi saw an arrival of 5,000 bags, with prices ranging from Rs 4,950 to Rs 5,400 per 20 kg, depending on the quality.
