Mumbai, March 5 (Commoditiescontrol): In Kottayam, prices for cloves from Comoros range from Rs. 860 to Rs. 870 per kilogram, while those from Madagascar are priced at Rs. 860 to Rs. 880 per kilogram. Cloves from Sri Lanka are quoted at Rs. 890 to Rs. 920 per kilogram. Despite a decrease during the previous week, domestic clove prices in Kottayam are expected to remain stable at Rs. 950 to Rs. 980 per kg.
The domestic market is currently experiencing pressure on prices due to higher supply resulting from increased imports and decreased exports. After a period of relative stability, domestic prices have fallen.
In Shimoga, the price per kilogram is reported to be between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,020, consistent with the previous session. Additionally, clove stems in Kottayam are priced at Rs. 160 per kilogram, in line with the previous session.
