Ahmedabad, February 22 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat is witnessing a surge, with prices increasing by Rs 50-55 per 20 kg in the state. Traders attribute this upward movement to increased demand and the arrival of dry goods.

Typically, there is pressure on prices due to increased arrivals, but the current rise is driven by robust demand. If export demand also picks up in the coming days, the market is expected to receive further support.

Around 52,000 bags of coriander, each weighing 40 kg, arrived in Saurashtra on the given day. Among these, around 4,500 bags contained old coriander, while the prices for new coriander remained stable at Rs 1,250-1,700 per 20 kg, and old coriander was priced at Rs 1,300-1,450 per 20 kg.

In Gondal Mandi, out of the 23,000 sacks arriving, 20,000 sacks were new coriander, and 3,000 sacks were old coriander. The price in Gondal Mandi ranged from Rs 1,551 to Rs 2,201. Additionally, in Halvad, 5,000 bags were reported, in Rajkot, 4,500 bags (new) and 500 bags (old) coriander were present, with prices ranging from Rs 1,225 to Rs 1,800 in front of the arrival.

Other areas reporting coriander arrivals included Jetpur 1,500 bags, Jamjodhpur 3,400 bags, Junagadh 1,500 bags new and 700 sacks old, Amreli 7,000 sacks, Jamnagar 900 sacks, and nearby mandis 3,800-4,000 sacks.
