Saurashtra Sees Arrival of 36,000 Bags of New Coriander; Prices Hold Firm

Ahmedabad, February 16 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Saurashtra is experiencing a steady arrival of fresh produce, with around 36,000 bags arriving today. Despite the surge in arrivals, the market is witnessing no major movements and continues to trade within a stable range. The overall market outlook depends on the selling price trends in the coming days.

Traders report that there is currently a scarcity of good-quality coriander. Additionally, new export business activities are not showing any significant uptick, contributing to the market's current range-bound trading.

Today, the state witnessed the arrival of around 41,500 sacks of coriander, each weighing 40 kg. Out of this, around 5,400 bags comprised old coriander. Prices for new coriander remained stable at Rs 1,100-1,650 per 20 kg, while old coriander was reported at Rs 1,225-1,400 per 20 kg.

In Gondal, new coriander was priced at Rs 1,451-1,901 against the arrival of 17,000 bags. In Halvad, 4,000 bags arrived, with prices maintaining a range. Rajkot reported prices at Rs 900-1,500 per 20 kg against the arrival of 5,000 bags. Jetpur reported 1,000 bags, Jamjodhpur 2,500 bags, Junagadh 700 bags, Amreli 1,200 sacks, Jamnagar 400 sacks, and 3,500-4,000 sacks arrived in nearby mandis.




Dhaniya contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 7526/quintal showing an fall of Rs -2 over previous close of Rs 7528/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7460-7560 for the day. Open interest increased by 30 MT to 21115 MT, while trading volume increased by 460 to 1535 MT.

Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7612/quintal showing an fall of Rs -20 over previous close of Rs 7632/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7560-7638 for the day. Open interest increased by 75 MT to 1395 MT, while trading volume increased by 120 to 250 MT.

Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -86 Rs/quintal.
