New Delhi, Feb 15 (Commoditiescontrol): Clove prices in major domestic markets, particularly in Kottayam and Shimoga, have reported stability in the current session. Prices for both domestically grown and imported cloves have remained consistent over the last three months in key regions like Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
In Kottayam, the price range for domestic clove varieties is as follows:
- Comoros: Rs. 870 to Rs. 880 per kilogram
- Madagascar: Rs. 880 to Rs. 900 per kilogram
- Sri Lanka: Rs. 890 to Rs. 920 per kilogram
For domestically grown cloves in Kottayam, prices are in the range of Rs. 1,010 to Rs. 1,030 per kilogram, which has remained unchanged from the previous session. In Shimoga, the price per kilogram for cloves ranges between Rs. 1,020 and Rs. 1,040.
Clove stems, another product in the market, are reported to be priced at Rs. 170 per kilogram in Kottayam, maintaining stability compared to the previous session.
The stability in prices is notable despite a drop in production in major producing countries, such as Indonesia. Both domestic and international markets have witnessed a steady trend in clove prices, with the current session reflecting this consistent pattern.
