MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot red chilli prices continued to rule weak at the major Warangal market on Tuesday amid a decrease in demand.

Export variety Teja has fallen nearly 10 percent after touching record levels last week. Even today it has fallen by about Rs 5/kg. Also, the price of 341 softened by Rs Rs 3/kg.

Last week, the price of Teja red chilli went to a record level of Rs 200/kg, which was at Rs 160-180 today.

According to traders, there is pressure on prices due to decrease in demand at higher prices. In other parts of the country, the arrival from Madhya Pradesh side has also increased. However, the arrival of new crop in Guntur will start only in December, which is expected to increase after January.
