New Delhi, April 5, 2024 (Commodities Control): The cotton markets in major producing states of the country witnessed the arrival of 61,500 bales of cotton on Friday, maintaining a relatively stable flow compared to the previous trading day's arrival of 61,200 bales.
Among the major producing states, Upper and Lower Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana collectively reported the arrival of 4,400 bales. Gujarat, known for its significant contribution to India's cotton production, saw the arrival of 20,000 bales. Maharashtra, another key cotton-producing region, reported the arrival of 25,000 bales.
In Madhya Pradesh, 4,000 bales of cotton were received in the market. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which often contribute significantly to the country's cotton production, collectively reported the arrival of 5,000 bales.
Conversely, Tamil Nadu reported no arrivals of cotton on this day. Karnataka mandis received 3,000 bales, while Odisha reported the arrival of 100 bales.
