New Delhi, March 23 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices remained unchanged in Karnataka for the third consecutive day on Saturday, with limited demand from spinning mills. Meanwhile, the daily arrival of Kapas in the state's mandis remained steady.
Traders noted a decline in cotton prices in the world market during the current week, prompting spinning mills in the domestic market to adopt a cautious approach. Additionally, the ongoing festive season has constrained mills from utilizing their full production capacity. However, there has been an increase in cotton exports so far in the current season, and local demand for yarn is expected to rise in the coming days. Consequently, mills are anticipated to resume cotton procurement next month. Cottonseed prices have remained stable alongside Kapas in the state.
On Saturday, the arrival of Kapas in the mandis of Karnataka totaled 5,000 bales, with each bale weighing 170 kg, consistent with the arrival figure recorded on the previous trading day.
