New Delhi, March 23 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in Lower Rajasthan remained stable on Saturday as ginning mills scaled back sales at lower prices, while the daily arrival of Kapas in the state's mandis came to a halt.
Traders noted that cotton prices had been under pressure in the state for the past three days, with ginning mills finding it unprofitable to sell at the prevailing low prices. Consequently, the stability in cotton prices was attributed to the reduced sales activity from ginning mills. However, the ongoing festive season coupled with the closure of March has led to limited purchases by spinning mills, thereby reducing the possibility of significant fluctuations in prices. Kapas and cottonseed prices remained steady in the state.
The arrival of Kapas in Lower Rajasthan's mandis today stood at 1,500 bales, each weighing 170 kg, matching the arrival figure from the previous trading day.
