Mumbai, 05 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Kabuli chana prices held steady in both mandi and container trade at the Indore market today. Stability is attributed to balanced supply and demand.
Prices for PKV-2 and Mexican varieties in Delhi, which had seen a brief increase, have also stabilized. Indore mandi arrivals increased to 8,500 bags (up 3,500 bags), while arrivals across Madhya Pradesh are estimated at 44,000-50,000 bags (up 15,000 bags). Robust demand is offsetting the increased supply, maintaining price stability.
Meanwhile, in Canada, Kabuli chickpea (FOB) prices were quoted at $1,190-1,200 per MT for 7mm and $1,340-1,350 per MT for 10mm sizes. The anticipated increase in planted acreage is putting downward pressure on FOB prices in Canada's local markets.
Market analysts anticipate Kabuli chana prices to stay range-bound in the near term, driven by steady demand and corresponding arrivals. Prices could potentially improve once arrival volumes decrease.
