Mumbai, 27 Mar 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Chana (chickpea) prices across India have shown a mixed trend. While most major markets report relative stability, Rajasthan has seen a decline in bilty and mandi trade by Rs 50-100 per quintal. This drop is attributed to low demand and poorer quality arrivals with higher moisture content.
Favorable weather conditions have influenced market dynamics. Dry weather has accelerated harvesting, which is expected to result in increased arrivals as markets resume trading in the new financial year. Harvesting is currently at its peak, with approximately 60-70% of the crop harvested in key growing regions like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
