New Delhi, March 22 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices remained nearly flat in both the physical market and futures trading on Friday. Traders attribute this stability to the negligible stocks of mentha oil currently available, coupled with weak demand from both the local industry and overseas markets.
In the market of Chandausi, mentha oil prices were quoted flat at Rs 1028-1030 per kg, reflecting no significant changes. Similarly, prices in the Barabanki market remained stagnant at Rs 995 per kg.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the benchmark contract for Mentha oil delivery in April showed a marginal increase of Rs 0.6 or 0.06%, trading at Rs 939.80 per kg. Open interest stood at 569, with a volume of 97.
Meanwhile, Mentha oil for delivery in March witnessed a slight decrease of Rs 1.30 or 0.14%, trading at Rs 920.5 per kg at MCX. Open interest recorded was 21, with a volume of 216.
