Mumbai, March 20 (CommoditiesControl): Mentha oil prices extended downward trend on Wednesday, driven by sluggish demand coupled with subdued supplies. The prevailing market conditions indicate negligible stocks of mentha oil, with tepid demand observed both domestically and in overseas markets.
In the key market of Chandausi, mentha oil prices were quoted at Rs 1026-1028 per kg, reflecting a decline from previous levels. Similarly, prices in Barabanki witnessed a downturn, with mentha oil quoted at Rs 992 per kg, marking a decrease of Rs 3.
At the MCX, the benchmark contract of Mentha oil for delivery in March recorded a decline of Rs 9.7, trading at Rs 917.6 per kg. The open interest stood at 241, with a volume of 213, underscoring the prevailing bearish sentiment in the market.
