New Delhi, March 13 (Commoditiescontrol): Mentha oil prices exhibited a mixed trend on Wednesday, reflecting subdued demand in the market. Analysts attribute the decrease in demand for natural mentha oil to the abundant supply of cheaper synthetic mentha products.
In Chandausi market, mentha oil prices remained firm, quoted at Rs 1026-1028 per kilogram. However, prices witnessed a decline of Rs 5 in the Barabanki market, settling at Rs 995 per kilogram.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the benchmark contract of Mentha oil for delivery in March showed a marginal increase of Rs 1.70, trading at Rs 937.5 per kilogram. The contract recorded an open interest of 556 and a volume of 111.
Mentha Oil contract for MAR delivery settled at Rs 937.5/quintal showing an rise of Rs 1.7 over previous close of Rs 935.8/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 929.1-937.9 for the day. Open interest decreased by -35 MT to 556 MT, while trading volume decreased by -48 to 111 MT.
