New Delhi, Feb 13 (Commoditiescontrol): After experiencing two consecutive days of a bearish trend, mentha oil prices witnessed an increase on Tuesday, attributed to improved buying. Despite weak industrial demand, buying activities saw improvement at lower levels. Market analysts, however, indicate that the demand for mentha oil remains relatively weak.
In Chandausi, mentha oil prices gained Rs 5, reaching Rs 988-990 per kg. Meanwhile, in Barabanki, prices rose by Rs 2, reaching Rs 958 per kg.
The benchmark contract of mentha oil for delivery in February traded Rs 3 higher at Rs 896.2 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The contract recorded open interest of 736 and a volume of 89.
Mentha Oil contract for FEB delivery settled at Rs 896.2/quintal showing an rise of Rs 3 over previous close of Rs 893.2/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 888.1-903 for the day. Open interest decreased by -20 MT to 736 MT, while trading volume decreased by -100 to 89 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for MAR delivery settled at Rs 908.9/quintal showing an rise of Rs 4.9 over previous close of Rs 904/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 904-913.8 for the day. Open interest increased by 18 MT to 93 MT, while trading volume increased by 1 to 26 MT.
