Ahmedabad, April 11 (CommoditiesControl): Market closures for Eid in North Gujarat, including the Banaskantha region and Kadi market, led to reduced castor seed arrivals. On the other hand, weak demand has resulted in a continued price decline. Today, castor seed prices softened by 5-10 rupees per 20 kg.
According to traders, the increased castor seed supply was due to increased farmers selling on concerns about potential unseasonal rains.
Market data reveals that approximately 80,000 sacks (1 sack = 35 kg) were traded in Gujarat, 14,000 sacks in Rajasthan, and 10,000 sacks were sold directly to mills. This brings the total number of sacks traded to around 1.04 lakh. Castor seed prices were quoted between 1120-1140 rupees per 20 kg.
