Ahmedabad, April 8 (Commoditiescontrol): Groundnut prices in Ahmedabad have declined as farmers rush to sell existing stock before the onset of hotter weather threatens crop quality. The Gondal and Rajkot markets are experiencing a significant increase in arrivals, potentially putting downward pressure on prices in the near term.
According to traders, the groundnut oil market remains stable with limited new export orders. Furthermore, export activity is expected to remain subdued until after Ramadan, reducing the likelihood of a substantial price rally. Today, Gondal and Rajkot saw a combined groundnut arrival of over 48,000 bags.
In Gondal mandi, the arrivals were around 20,435 bags (1 bag = 35 kg). The average quality was Rs 1141-1316, and the best quality was Rs 1146-1351 per 20 kg. In Rajkot mandi, the arrivals were 28,000 bags, and 5,000 bags were pending. The average quality was Rs 1110-1235, and the best quality was Rs 1090-1350 per 20 kg. The total arrivals of groundnuts in Saurashtra today were around 52,000-55,000 bags.
