Ahmedabad, April 5 (Commodities Control): Peanut prices improved by 5-10 rupees per 20 kilograms in the key Saurashtra markets of Gondal and Rajkot as arrivals dwindled. The decreased supply coincides with strong demand from mills following last Wednesday's robust peanut oil trading of 900 tons.
In Gondal, approximately 12,255 bags (1 bag = 35 kg) of peanuts arrived. Prices ranged from 1156-1351 rupees per 20 kg for average quality and 1175-1361 rupees per 20 kg for best quality lots.
Rajkot reported an inflow of 8000 bags, with an additional 3000 bags pending. Average quality peanuts traded between 1095-1245 rupees per 20 kg, while best quality commanded prices of 1110-1350 rupees per 20 kg.
Total estimated peanut arrivals in Saurashtra for the day stood between 25,000-30,000 bags.
