Mustard seed, oil prices rise, cake extends gains

Jaipur, 20 March (Commoditiescontrol) Prices of mustard seed and oil rose on Wednesday tracking firmness in the international edible oil market. However, cake prices were down.

Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned gained Rs 25 to Rs 5,425-5550 per quintal kachchi (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.

Mustard oil expeller prices rose Rs 5 to Rs 1025-1026 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices also gained Rs 5 to 1035-1036 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices dropped Rs 10 to Rs 2475-2480 per quintal in Jaipur.

Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 15.25 lakh bags across the country, down 75,000 bags from last session. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 8 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 1.80 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh, 1.90 lakh bags in Uttar Pradesh, one lakh bags in Punjab and Haryana and 65,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 1.90 lakh bags of mustard seed.
