Mumbai, 16 Mar (Commoditiescontrol): India has extended its export ban on De-Oiled Rice Bran until July 31, 2024. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry made the announcement on March 15th, 2024. The ban, originally put in place for a shorter period, prohibits export of the rice milling byproduct under the ITC HS code 2306.
The government has not provided an official reason for the continued restriction. However, such measures are often taken to ensure domestic supply of important commodities. The decision will likely impact the rice milling industry and associated export markets.
